		<description>Yes, I agree that electronic newspapers, despite their flaws, can be a useful way for journalism students to build up their profile and increase their job opportunities. You mentioned the New York Times has taken up the idea. 

The New York Times is also running a very good citizen journalism pilot project in both Brooklyn and New Jersey. Under the guidance of a  reporter, locals produce their own news, undertake interviews with people in their neighbourhood and take photos. More newspapers should do this.</description>

		<description>Agreed. Linear, passive experience, big files, not easy to share.....this is very old media. 

On the plus side, they are good for student portfolios and they can use it to demonstrate their skills in things like InDesign.</description>
